Welcome to the
Housing Options wizard.

This tool will ask a series of questions and then guide you through the different options you can explore to enhance your housing situation.

Why not just wait for a social housing tenancy?

Social housing is in great demand and often households can wait a long time before being placed in a social rented property.  There are alternative housing options to social housing that may make it easy and quicker for you to move house.

What housing options are available?

There are lots of different options available but they are not suitable for everyone. Using this wizard you will be able to see which options are suitable for you. Some of the available options include:

  • Shared ownership
  • Mutual Exchange
  • Social Housing
  • Sheltered housing
  • Overcrowded
  • Private rented

Council Tax, Housing Benefits, Local Council Tax Support, Supporting People, Adult Social Services, Children’s Social Services, Strengthening Families, Housing Renewals and external agencies; for the purpose of processing applications, preventing homelessness, assessing housing need and eligibility for social housing, providing assistance in relation to sustaining accommodation, to maximise individuals income through means of available support, for identifying and providing for support needs and to identify persons responsible for the recovery of any Council debts.
